Regular Season Round 7: Bonn 2 - Hamm 82-87

There was an upset when higher ranked Bonn 2 (3-3) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Hamm (2-4) 87-82 on Saturday. Hamm forced 24 Bonn 2 turnovers. It was a great evening for Bulgarian Mihail Tanev (200-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Bosnian guard Mario Petric (190-94) helped adding 8 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side American-Dutch forward Shaquille Rombley (203, college: LMU) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds and American guard Matt Frierson (189-97, college: Citadel) scored 28 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Hamm moved-up to tenth place in West, which they share with ETB Miners. Bonn 2 lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Hamm will meet at home higher ranked BSV Wulfen (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bonn 2 will play against Recklinghausen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
