Regular Season Round 8: Palanga - Kretinga 81-85

There was an upset when higher ranked Palanga (4-4) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Kretinga (3-5) 85-81 on Saturday. Kretinga looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Aidas Viskontas (184-86) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 4 assists and center Rytis Zabita (200-94) who added 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Kretinga players scored in double figures. American guard DJ Hanes (185-95, college: Nebraska Chr., agency: One Motive Sports) responded with 27 points and 8 assists and Karolis Sapiega (198-99) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Kretinga moved-up to tenth place, which they share with LSU-Atletas. Palanga at the other side keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Silute and Zalgiris II. Kretinga will meet at home bottom-ranked Neptunas-Akv. (#14) in the next round. Palanga will play against Telsiai (#3) in Telsiu and hope to secure a win.
