No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Schwenningen (4-2) beat on the road 10th ranked Kirchheim Knights (3-4) 78-72 on Saturday. Schwenningen made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Schwenningen had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Justin Pierce (201-98, college: UNC, agency: Inception Sports) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import guard David Cohn (188-95, college: William & Mary) accounted for 14 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists for the winning side. American guard Rohndell Goodwin (195-91, college: Chaminade) came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Croatian point guard Karlo Miksic (193-97) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Kirchheim Knights in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Schwenningen moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Rostock. Loser Kirchheim Knights dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. Schwenningen will meet Uni Baskets (#8) in the next round. Kirchheim Knights will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule (#17) in Allmendingen and hope to secure a win.
