Important game to mention about took place in Kaunas. Second ranked Gargzdu (7-1) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked LSU-Atletas (3-5) 97-94 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Marius Runkauskas (186-86, agency: BIG) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points. Mantas Ruikis (197-85) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Gytis Sirutavicius (195-83) replied with 23 points and 4 assists and center Ignas Juskevicius (201-91) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for LSU-Atletas. Five Gargzdu and four LSU-Atletas players scored in double figures. LSU-Atletas' coach Remigijus Bardauskas tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gargzdu have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Newly promoted LSU-Atletas dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. They share the position with Kretinga. Gargzdu will play against Vilkaviskis (#4) at home in the next round. LSU-Atletas will play against Vilnius (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
