Regular Season Round 2: Tesvikiye - Tofas 71-74

There was no surprise when Tesvikiye was edged at home by Tofas 74-71 on Saturday. Tofas shot 24 for 38 from the free-throw line, while Tesvikiye only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Tesvikiye 50-38 including 20 on the offensive glass. Center Baran Yurdusen (198-4) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Ali Taskin (201-3) supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds by Orkun Cavusoglu (-4) did not help to save the game for Tesvikiye. Utku Pelit (-3) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tofas will meet at home Merkezefendi in the next round. Tesvikiye will play against Pinar Karsiyaka and hope to win that game.
