Rather expected game when bottom-ranked ETV (0-6) was smashed on the road by ninth ranked Duesseldorf (2-4) 121-68 on Saturday. Duesseldorf dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to ETV's 34. Duesseldorf forced 26 ETV turnovers and outrebounded them 42-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by ETV's players. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Booker Coplin (191-97, college: Augsburg) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Lithuanian Andrius Mikutis (195-88, college: John Brown, agency: Players Group) accounted for 19 points for the winning side. Five Duesseldorf players scored in double figures. Duesseldorf's coach Florian Flabb felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Mubarak Salami (198-96) came up with 32 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Marcel Hoppe (198-98) added 18 points respectively for ETV in the defeat. Duesseldorf moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with Rhoendorf and Schwelm. ETV lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with six games lost. Duesseldorf will meet league's leader Muenster on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ETV will play against Wolmirstedt (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
