Regular Season Round 7: Chaika - Dynamo-NPU 75-83

Dynamo-NPU can celebrate finally their first win this season after nine consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Berdiansk, where they defeated Chaika (1-7) 83-75 on Saturday. Chaika trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 14-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-83 at the end of the game. Dynamo-NPU made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward Kayla Mobley (180-90, college: Clayton St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Her fellow American import guard Keke Calloway (170-97, college: Mercer) helped adding 19 points (made all of her nine free throws !!!). At the losing side U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-90, college: Portland) responded with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Valeriia Desiatnyk (184-0) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Dynamo-NPU went down to eighth position due to points difference. It was Chaika's seventh loss in a row. They dropped to the seventh place with seven games lost. Dynamo-NPU will meet league's leader Prometey in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chaika will play against the league's second-placed Budivelnyk (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
