Regular Season Round 8: Vytis - Telsiai 67-72

The biggest surprise of round 8 in NKL was guest Telsiai's (#3) road victory over Vytis (#5) 72-67 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was point guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) who scored 18 points and 4 assists. Center Mindaugas Norkus (201-85) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Paulius Beliavicius (196-88) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Vytis' coach Erikas Kuciauskas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Telsiai have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 6-2 record behind leader Gargzdu, which they share with Vilkaviskis. Vytis lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with three games lost. Telsiai is looking forward to face Palanga (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Vytis will play against Delikatesas in Joniskis and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
