Regular Season Round 7: Herner - Hannover 48-72

The most interesting game of round 7 was a home defeat of 4th placed Herner (5-2) by third ranked Hannover (6-1) who outscored them by 24 points 72-48. It ended the five-game winning streak of Herner. They outrebounded Herner 38-22 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Patricia Brossmann (183-97, college: San Diego) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. American guard Kelly Moten (173-93, college: Emporia St.) helped adding 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Hannover players scored in double figures. At the losing side Slovakian forward Veronika Remenarova (188-97) responded with 9 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian guard Nofuente Ceejay (177-93, college: Humber) scored 6 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hannover moved-up to second place. Herner at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Freiburg. Hannover are looking forward to face Osnabrueck (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Herner will play against Saarlouis and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
