Regular Season Round 6: Tofas - Anadolu Efes 94-107

The most important game in the last round took place in Bursa between third ranked Tofas (4-2) and fifth ranked Efes (4-2) on Sunday night. Tofas was defeated by Efes at home 107-94. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tofas. Efes made 31-of-35 free shots (88.6 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Tofas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic (196-94, agency: BeoBasket) had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and French Rodrigue Beaubois (190-88, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Efes' coach Ergin Ataman used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Mexican Francisco Cruz (191-89, college: Wyoming) with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Croatian forward Tomislav Zubcic (211-90) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Tofas and Galatasaray. Efes is looking forward to face Turk Telekom (#13) in Ankara in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tofas' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bursa to the arena Bursaspor.
