Regular Season Round 9: Zalgiris - Prienai CBet 103-77

LKL top team - Zalgiris (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Prienai CBet (0-7) in Kaunas 103-77. They outrebounded Prienai CBet 33-20 including 20 on the defensive glass. Zalgiris shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The former international point guard Lukas Lekavicius (180-94) nailed 19 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winning side and the former international Edgaras Ulanovas (199-92) accounted for 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Juwan Durham (211-97, college: Notre Dame) came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and the other American import point guard Isiah Umipig (183-92, college: Seattle) added 9 points and 4 assists respectively for Prienai CBet in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-0 record. Prienai CBet at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Zalgiris will play against league's second-placed Rytas in Vilnius in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Prienai CBet will play at home against Siauliai (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
