There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Miercurea Ciuc (0-6) was outplayed on the road by ninth ranked Craiova (4-2) 92-69 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-69. Craiova made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 33 Miercurea Ciuc turnovers. Strangely Miercurea Ciuc outrebounded Craiova 42-28 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Michael Qualls (197-94, college: Arkansas, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import forward Josh Hawley (201-96, college: Tarleton St.) chipped in 18 points and 4 steals. Four Craiova players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian guard Branislav Vujadinovic (196-97, college: Assumption) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and DR Congolese-Canadian forward Chadrack Lufile (206-90, college: Wichita St., agency: BIG) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Craiova moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Constanta and Ploiesti CSM. Loser Miercurea Ciuc still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Targu Jiu. Craiova will meet league's leader Pitesti on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Miercurea Ciuc will have a break next round.
