Regular Season Round 7: Saarlouis - Halle 70-65
Date: October 31, 2021
Very predictable result when eighth ranked Saarlouis (3-4) defeated at home 13th ranked Halle (1-5) 70-65 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Saarlouis made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. American Leah Scott (183-93, college: Marshall) fired 27 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Italian guard Antonia Peresson (175-95, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Czech power forward Barbora Kasparkova (183-92) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and British guard Eilidh Simpson (170-92, college: SFC) added 16 points and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Halle's coach Katerina Hatzidaki rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Saarlouis. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Noerdlingen. Loser Halle keeps the thirteenth position with five games lost. Saarlouis will meet at home higher ranked Herner (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Halle will play against Noerdlingen (#7) and hope to win that game.
