The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of BC Vienna (3-1) on the court of third ranked Gunners Oberwart on Thursday night. Visitors were rolled over by Gunners Oberwart 84-61. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of BC Vienna. The game was mostly controlled by Gunners Oberwart. BC Vienna managed to win third quarter 22-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded BC Vienna 42-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Greek guard Ioannis Chatzinikolas (196-95) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and international forward Renato Poljak (202-97) who added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Chatzinikolas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side the former international center Jozo Rados (206-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Tauras Jogela (202-93, agency: 011 Sports) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Five Gunners Oberwart and four BC Vienna players scored in double figures. Gunners Oberwart moved-up to second place, which they share with Vienna. Gunners Oberwart is looking forward to face Timberwolves (#8) in Vienna in the next round where they are favorite. BC Vienna will play at home against Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
