Regular Season Round 8: Art.Dragons - Jena 86-94

ProA top team - Science City Jena (7-1) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Artland Dragons (2-5) in Quakenbrueck 94-86. Science City Jena made 18-of-18 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Strangely Artland Dragons outrebounded Science City Jena 34-22 including 20 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by American swingman Brandon Thomas (198-84, college: UMass, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import point guard Rayshawn Simmons (192-93, college: CMU) supported him with 20 points and 6 assists. Science City Jena's coach Domenik Reinboth allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 19 points and 5 assists by American Chase Griffin (190-83, college: Pepperdine) did not help to save the game for Artland Dragons. Czech center Adam Pechacek (206-95) added 17 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Science City Jena have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Artland Dragons at the other side dropped to the fifteenth place with five games lost. Science City Jena will play against Leverkusen (#5) on the road in the next round. Artland Dragons will play against Schwenningen (#3) and hope to get back on the winning track.
