No shocking result in a game in Bucuresti where eighth ranked Voluntari (4-1) smashed 11th ranked Rapid (2-4) 85-56 on Friday. The game without a history. Voluntari led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Voluntari outrebounded Rapid 48-37 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American Toddrick Gotcher (192-93, college: Texas Tech, agency: Alti Sport) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Lithuanian point guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (188-89) helped adding 21 points. At the losing side American forward Eric Copes (203-93, college: Z*Orangeville A's, agency: Mansfield and Associates) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds and the other American import guard Jagan Mosely (191-98, college: Georgetown, agency: Slash Sports) scored 13 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Voluntari moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Oradea. Newly promoted Rapid dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. Voluntari will meet at home bottom-ranked Miercurea Ciuc (#16) in the next round which should be another easy win for them.
