Regular Season Round 5: Balkan - Cherno More 88-69

Everything went according to plan in Botevgrad where fourth ranked Balkan (4-1) outscored 9th ranked Cherno More (1-5) 88-69 on Saturday. Balkan looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was international Dimitar Dimitrov (203-93) who scored 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. American forward Travin Thibodeaux (203-96, college: New Orleans) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Balkan players scored in double figures. Guard Martin Kotsev (195-98, agency: BIG) produced 14 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Martin Jordanov (207-2) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Balkan moved-up to third place, which they share with Chernomorets. Cherno More lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. Balkan will meet league's leader Rilski in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cherno More will play against Akademik P. (#6) in Plovdiv and hope to win that game.
