Regular Season Round 8: Bergedorf - Braunschweig 84-85

There was a small surprise in Hamburg where fourteenth ranked SG Braunschweig (2-6) edged 12th ranked Bergedorf (2-6) 85-84 on Saturday. They outrebounded Bergedorf 47-27 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Sananda Fru (208-3) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Joshua Burgunder (194-1) who added 22 points during the contest. Four SG Braunschweig players scored in double figures. Croatian Matej Jelovcic (185-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and Aleksandar Postic (195-0) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. SG Braunschweig moved-up to thirteenth place in North, which they share with defeated Bergedorf. SG Braunschweig will meet at home higher ranked Vechta-2 (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bergedorf will play against Wolfenbuettel (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
