Regular Season Round 7: Focsani - Steaua B. 83-73

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Steaua B. (3-3) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Focsani (3-4) 83-73 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Focsani. Steaua B. managed to win third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American guard Henri Wade-Chatman (188-92, college: Edinboro) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). His fellow American import power forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) helped adding 23 points. Baker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American guard KJ Jackson (188-98, college: UMBC, agency: Players Group) responded with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Croatian point guard Karlo Vragovic (192-89) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Focsani moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Dinamo B. Loser Steaua B. keeps the ninth position with three games lost. Focsani will meet higher ranked Craiova (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Steaua B. will play against Ploiesti CSM and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
