Regular Season Round 10: Lietkabelis - Nevezis 60-67

There was a surprise result in Panevezys where ninth ranked Nevezis (2-5) defeated higher ranked Lietkabelis (5-4) 67-60 on Sunday. Latvian Rihards Kuksiks (201-88, college: Arizona St.) scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Italian guard Abramo Canka (199-2) chipped in 10 points during the contest. Four Nevezis players scored in double figures. Nevezis' coach Gediminas Petrauskas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Serbian-Spanish guard Nikola Radicevic (196-94) responded with 18 points and Latvian center Kaspars Berzins (213-85) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Nevezis moved-up to eighth place. Loser Lietkabelis dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Nevezis will meet higher ranked Siauliai (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lietkabelis will play against Dzukija in Alytus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
