Regular Season Round 8: ETV Hamburg - Wolmirstedt 79-115

There was no surprise in Hamburg where bottom-ranked ETV (0-8) was outplayed by fourth ranked Wolmirstedt (6-2) 115-79 on Sunday. Wolmirstedt dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to ETV's 32. Wolmirstedt forced 24 ETV turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Martin Bogdanov (186-92) who scored 35 points (!!!). Guard Philipp Lieser (194-89, college: CWU) chipped in 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Five Wolmirstedt players scored in double figures. Mubarak Salami (198-96) produced 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Marcel Hoppe (198-98) added 21 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. ETV's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Wolmirstedt moved-up to third place in North. ETV at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with eight games lost. Wolmirstedt will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. ETV will play against Dragons Rhoendorf (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
