Regular Season Round 7: Ovarense - Povoa 86-68

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Povoa's (1-6) road loss to eighth ranked Ovarense (3-3) 68-86 on Sunday. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Brandon Anderson (185-97, college: Brown) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import swingman Kameron Chatman (206-96, college: Detroit) accounted for 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Five Ovarense players scored in double figures. Bosnian-Canadian guard Diego Kapelan (190-87, college: McNeese St., agency: BIG) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and American forward Nakye Sanders (203-97, college: Towson) added 16 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Povoa in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ovarense moved-up to seventh place. Newly promoted Povoa keeps the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Illiabum and Vitoria SC. Ovarense will meet higher ranked Oliveirense (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Povoa will play against the league's second-placed Benfica having rather not much hope for a victory.
