Regular Season Round 5: Polytechnica - Enigma Fireworks 86-84

There was an upset in Sofia where higher ranked Enigma Fireworks (2-3) was edged by ninth ranked Polytechnica (2-2) 86-84 on Sunday. Polytechnica dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Enigma Fireworks' 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Stefan Georgiev stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Ivaylo Konstantinov chipped in 19 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Polytechnica players scored in double figures. Polytechnica's coach Yanko Yanchev used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Center Lubomir Oresharov (201-96) responded with 30 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Preslav Nedelchev (188-97) scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Polytechnica moved-up to sixth place in A. Loser Enigma Fireworks dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Polytechnica's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sofia to the arena Slavia.
