Regular Season Round 5: Vihar Aytos - Dunav 77-48

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Dunav (0-5) was crushed on the road by third ranked Vihar Aytos (3-2) 77-48 on Sunday. Vihar Aytos dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Dunav's 30. Vihar Aytos forced 22 Dunav turnovers and outrebounded them 47-29 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Dunav's players. Guard Stoyan Milchev (185-95) stepped up and scored 41 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners and forward Stoil Aladjov (198-99) chipped in 17 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Ivan Zhivkov (176-6) responded with 20 points and forward Stoyan Ganev (198-5) scored 7 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Vihar Aytos maintains third place in A with 3-2 record having just two points less than leader Chavdar. Dunav at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
