Regular Season Round 7: Anadolu Efes - Turk Telekom 79-66
Date: November 7, 2021
Not a big story in a game in Istanbul where 12th ranked Turk Telekom (2-5) was defeated by third ranked Efes (5-2) 79-66 on Sunday. Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for international guard Shane Larkin (182-92, college: Miami, FL) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points. International point guard Ahmet Tuncer (193-93) helped adding 12 points and 6 assists. Efes' coach Ergin Ataman used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) responded with 10 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import Aaron Harrison (198-94, college: Kentucky, agency: Network Sports International) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains third place with 5-2 record behind leader Fenerbahce. Turk Telekom lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. They share it with Yalova and Merkezefendi. Efes will meet Buyukcekmece (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Turk Telekom will play against Bursaspor (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
