There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked TED Ankara (2-5) beat their close opponent Kagitspor (2-5) in Izmit 78-69 on Monday. TED Ankara made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Keshun Sherrill (175-94, college: Augusta) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 6 assists. The former international point guard Kevin Kaspar (183-92, college: WKU) accounted for 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. American point guard JVon McCormick (183-8, college: Auburn) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Mehmet Kizil (-96) added 13 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Kagitspor in the defeat. Four Kagitspor players scored in double figures. Newly promoted TED Ankara maintains twelfth place with 2-5 record, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Kagitspor. Kagitspor lost fifth consecutive game. TED Ankara will meet at home higher ranked Balikesir (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kagitspor will play against OGM Orman (#8) and hope to secure a win.
