Regular Season Round 11: Kretinga - Delikatesas 88-98

There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Kretinga (4-7) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked Delikatesas (3-8) 98-88 on Thursday. Delikatesas outrebounded Kretinga 46-25 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Tomas Balciunas (204-0) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. American Donnell Cegers (197-93, college: NMU) helped adding 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Haroldas Saprykinas (187-95, college: UC Irvine, agency: BIG) responded with 19 points and center Rytis Zabita (200-94) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Delikatesas and four Kretinga players scored in double figures. Delikatesas moved-up to twelfth place. Newly promoted Kretinga keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Palanga. Delikatesas will meet at home Vilnius (#13) in the next round. Kretinga will play against Silute and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
