Regular Season Round 9: Hagen BG - Herford 79-89

Very expected game when 12th ranked Hagen BG (2-7) was defeated at home by first ranked Herford (8-1) 89-79 on Friday. Herford made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Point guard Ole Wendt (190-92) stepped up and scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American guard Juhwan Harris-Dyson (196-98, college: California) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Five Herford players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Salathiel Ligons (201-84) with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and Lithuanian forward Vytautas Nedzinskas (196-87) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Herford have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place in West with 8-1 record. Loser Hagen BG keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. They share it with Dorsten. Herford will meet at home ETB Miners (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hagen BG's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Hagen to the arena Hagen-Haspe.
