Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked WSG Koenigs (2-5) were defeated on the road by first ranked Westerstede (7-2) 81-72 on Saturday. Westerstede looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by WSG Koenigs' players. Serbian Jovan Savic (199-2) stepped up and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and center Norris Agbakoko (215-0) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Westerstede's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Oliver Mackeldanz (211-90) with 28 points and 6 rebounds and Croatian guard Tomislav Gabric (198-91, college: FHSU) scored 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Westerstede maintains first place in North with 7-2 record. WSG Koenigs lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with five games lost. Westerstede will meet Cuxhaven (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. WSG Koenigs will play against Bramsche (#8) and hope to secure a win.
