Regular Season Round 12: Silute - Kretinga 86-68

The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Silute's (5-6) home victory over 10th ranked Kretinga (4-8) 86-68 on Saturday. Silute looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by the former international center Valdas Vasylius (202-83, college: ODU) who scored that evening 24 points and 9 rebounds and Linas Lekavicius (185-84, college: American) supported him with 13 points and 5 assists. Four Silute players scored in double figures. Even 9 points and 10 rebounds by center Rytis Zabita (200-94) did not help to save the game for Kretinga. Eimantas Zilius (201-99) added 16 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Silute moved-up to eighth place. Kretinga lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Delikatesas and Palanga. Silute will meet Vilnius (#13) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Kretinga will play against Vilkaviskis and hope to secure a win.
