Regular Season Round 12: Telsiai - Zalgiris II 80-84

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Telsiai (9-3) against seventh ranked Zalgiris II (7-5) on Saturday night. Host Telsiai was defeated by Zalgiris II in a tough game in Telsiu 80-84. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Telsiai. Zalgiris II made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Telsiai 40-21 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Zalgiris II players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Motiejus Krivas (213-4) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and point guard Titas Sargiunas (190-3) who added 11 points and 9 assists during the contest. Zalgiris II's coach Vytautas Pliauga allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was point guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 assists and 5 steals and Vilius Pocius (196-95) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Zalgiris II and five Telsiai players scored in double figures. Zalgiris II moved-up to fourth place, which they share with LSU-Atletas and Vilkaviskis. Telsiai at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Zalgiris II will play against Mazeikiai (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Telsiai will play against LSU-Atletas (#5) in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
