NKL top team - Gargzdu (11-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat eighth ranked Mazeikiai (4-7) in Gargzdai 73-63. The winners were led by Marius Runkauskas (186-86, agency: BIG) who scored that evening 19 points and Mantas Ruikis (197-85) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds by Medas Kuprijanovas (197-96) did not help to save the game for Mazeikiai. Center Jonas Paukste (220-0) added 8 points and 13 rebounds. Mazeikiai's coach Mindaugas Janiska rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gargzdu have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-1 record. Loser Mazeikiai dropped to the ninth place with seven games lost. Gargzdu will meet at home Delikatesas (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mazeikiai will play against Zalgiris II in Kaunas and hope to secure a win.
