The game between closely ranked teams ended with twelfth ranked Delikatesas' (4-8) home victory over 13th ranked Vilnius (2-8) in Joniskis 103-71 on Saturday. Delikatesas forced 22 Vilnius turnovers and outrebounded them 48-34 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Delikatesas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Delikatesas made 7 blocks. The winners were led by American Donnell Cegers (197-93, college: NMU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and the other American import Darion Rackley (187-92, college: JSU) supported him with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Four Delikatesas players scored in double figures. Even 25 points by guard Gytis Valickas (197-3) did not help to save the game for Vilnius. Forward Augustinas Kiudulas (200-3) added 11 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Delikatesas moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Kretinga and Palanga. Vilnius lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Delikatesas will meet league's leader Gargzdu in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Vilnius will play against Silute (#8) and hope to secure a win.
