No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Voluntari (5-1) crushed at home bottom-ranked Miercurea Ciuc (0-7) 104-68 on Saturday. The game without a history. Voluntari led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 62.5 percent from the field. Voluntari outrebounded Miercurea Ciuc 39-25 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 61.3 percentage. Voluntari looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by the former international power forward Rolland Torok (203-90) who scored that evening 23 points and 7 rebounds and American Toddrick Gotcher (192-93, college: Texas Tech, agency: Alti Sport) supported him with 22 points. Even 21 points and 4 assists by Serbian guard Branislav Vujadinovic (196-97, college: Assumption) did not help to save the game for Miercurea Ciuc. DR Congolese-Canadian forward Chadrack Lufile (206-90, college: Wichita St., agency: BIG) added 16 points for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Voluntari have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Oradea. Loser Miercurea Ciuc still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Galati. Voluntari will meet league's second-placed Pitesti on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Miercurea Ciuc will play against Dinamo B. (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
