Regular Season Round 10: Ehingen - Tuebingen 83-98

Bottom-ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to second ranked Walter Tigers (7-2) 98-83 on Saturday evening. Walter Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Ehingen/Urspringschule's 34 and made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Ehingen/Urspringschule 40-17 including a 31-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Ryan Mikesell (201-96, college: Dayton) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the other American import Isaiah Crawley (201-98, college: Georgia South) supported him with 24 points and 5 rebounds. Four Walter Tigers players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 6 rebounds by Canadian point guard Munis Tutu (184-96, college: Carleton) did not help to save the game for Ehingen/Urspringschule. Naturalized New Zealand guard Takiula Fahrensohn (201-99, college: Portland, agency: Haylett Sports) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Walter Tigers have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-2 record behind leader Jena, which they share with Rostock. Loser Ehingen/Urspringschule still closes the standings with nine games lost. Walter Tigers will meet at home Rasta Vechta (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play against Leverkusen and hopes to get finally their first victory.
