Regular Season Round 9: AC Wizards - Coburg 81-80

There was a minor upset in Karlsruhe where 10th ranked Coburg (1-5) was edged by twelfth ranked Arvato College Wizards (2-7) 81-80 on Saturday. Arvato College Wizards outrebounded Coburg 34-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Rouven Roessler (198-80) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Christoph Rupp (195-94) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was swingman Sven Lorber (183-97) with 14 points and 5 assists and Croatian-Austrian power forward Leon Bulic (209-1) scored 19 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Coburg's coach Valentino Lott let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Arvato College Wizards moved-up to ninth place in South. Coburg lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. Arvato College Wizards will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Coburg will play against Deisenhofen (#7) and hope to win that game.
