Everything went according to plan when third ranked Ibbenbueren (7-2) won against at home 9th ranked Bonn 2 (4-5) 102-86 on Saturday. American-Spanish Marco Porcher Jimenez (193-92, college: FIU) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and American forward Torvoris Baker (201-83, college: Detroit) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American-Dutch forward Shaquille Rombley (203, college: LMU) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and Erik Neusel (204-0) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Bonn 2 players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ibbenbueren moved-up to second place in West. Loser Bonn 2 dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Ibbenbueren will meet Hamm (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bonn 2 will play against Dorsten and hope to secure a win.
