BSL top team - Fenerbahce (7-1) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat fifteenth ranked Merkezefendi (2-6) in Istanbul 85-77. Fenerbahce made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by Canadian Marial Shayok (196-95, college: Iowa St.) who scored that evening 18 points and 6 rebounds and American center Devin Booker (205-91, college: Clemson) supported him with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 21 points and 6 assists by Latvian Rihards Lomazs (190-96) did not help to save the game for Merkezefendi. American point guard Adam Smith (185-92, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Network Sports International) added 15 points for the guests. Four Merkezefendi players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fenerbahce have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Merkezefendi lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourteenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Yalova. Fenerbahce's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Besiktas.
