Everything could happen in Kryvyi Rih at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Zaporizhye and 8th ranked Krivbas had identical 5-8 record. But Krivbas were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from Zaporozhye 69-58 on Sunday night. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Zaporizhye outrebounded Krivbas 49-25 including a 22-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Daeshon Francis (193-96, college: UTPB) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Alexander Sizov (197-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Klym Artamonov (185-93) produced 10 points and 6 assists and international center Vladyslav Koreniuk (210-94, agency: Octagon Europe) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Zaporizhye (6-8) moved-up to seventh place. Newly promoted Krivbas keep the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Odessa. Zaporizhye will meet at home higher ranked K.Sokoly (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Krivbas will play against Kyiv Basket (#3) and hope to secure a win.
