Regular Season Round 7: Fenerbahce G. - Yalova Vip 60-66

There was no surprise in Istanbul where 11th ranked Fenerbahce G. (2-5) was defeated by sixth ranked Yalova Vip (5-2) 66-60 on Tuesday. Yalova Vip forced 21 Fenerbahce G. turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Cierra Dillard (176-96, college: Buffalo, agency: Shark Sports Management) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of her seven free throws). Forward Asli Sevinc (178-79) helped adding 18 points and 10 rebounds. Four Yalova Vip players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Shelby Cheslek (196-92, college: Gonzaga) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and Selin Gul (184-3) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Fenerbahce G.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Yalova Vip. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Edremit. Loser Fenerbahce G. dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. They share it with Karsiyaka. Yalova Vip will meet at home Adana (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Fenerbahce G.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Uludag.
