Regular Season Round 6: KKM I - VKKM 65-92

Very expected game in Klaipeda where bottom-ranked KKM I (0-5) was crushed by top-ranked VKKM (5-0) 92-65 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by VKKM. KKM I managed to win second period 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to KKM I's 36. VKKM forced 21 KKM I turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Mantas Mockevicius (197-4) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds. Point guard Arnas Knystautas (186-4) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Four VKKM players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Laurynas Vitosis (192-4) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and swingman Emilis Maziliauskas (192-4) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. VKKM have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with SKM I. Loser KKM I still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with RasKKSC. VKKM's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Vilniaus SKM II.
