Regular Season Round 13: LSU-Atletas - Telsiai 85-82

The most exciting game of round 13 in the NKL took place in Kaunas. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Telsiai (9-4) to fifth ranked LSU-Atletas (8-5) 85-82 on Thursday evening. LSU-Atletas made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Telsiai helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Karolis Babkauskas (185-91, agency: BIG) stepped up and scored 27 points for the winners and the former international Martynas Linkevicius (197-85, agency: BIG) chipped in 11 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side Ovidijus Kaminskis (195-91) responded with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Deividas Rasys (192-97) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. LSU-Atletas have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Vilkaviskis. Telsiai at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. LSU-Atletas is again looking forward to face higher ranked Telsiai (#3) in Telsiu in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Telsiai will have a break next round.
