There was no surprise when 13th ranked SG Braunschweig (2-8) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Neustadt TSV (5-5) 63-50 on Saturday. Dutch point guard Dyon Doekhi (188-87) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American-Jamaican center Brandon McLean (201-95, college: Huntingdon) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Neustadt TSV's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side point guard Simon Roosch (198-1) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and Julius Seither (203-94) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Neustadt TSV moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with Cuxhaven. Newly promoted SG Braunschweig dropped to the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Neustadt TSV will meet Wolfenbuettel (#13) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. SG Braunschweig will play against the league's second-placed Aschersleben having rather not much hope for a victory.
