Very predictable result in Denizl where seventh ranked Galatasaray (6-3) defeated 15th ranked Merkezefendi (2-7) 89-73 on Saturday. Galatasaray dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Merkezefendi's 28. The best player for the winners was Trinidad and Tobago-American swingman Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St.) who scored 23 points. American-Bulgarian point guard Dee Bost (188-89, college: MSU) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Adam Smith (185-92, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Network Sports International) who recorded 24 points and 4 assists and the other American import center Devonte Upson (206-93, college: SE Louisiana) added 7 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Galatasaray moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Gaziantep. Merkezefendi lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Yalova.
