Regular Season Round 9: Ploiesti CSM - Craiova 77-96

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Craiova (6-3) outscored on the road 9th ranked Ploiesti CSM (4-5) 96-77 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-77. The best player for the winners was American forward Josh Hawley (201-96, college: Tarleton St.) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Michael Qualls (197-94, college: Arkansas, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 22 points. Craiova's coach Michalis Kakiouzis used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Deion Hammond (193, college: Monmouth) who recorded 26 points and Montenegrin center Mihailo Sekulovic (206-91) added 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Craiova moved-up to fifth place. Ploiesti CSM lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with Dinamo B.. Craiova will meet at home Constanta (#8) in the next round. Ploiesti CSM will play against Oradea and hope to secure a win.
