Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Recklinghausen (6-4) beat on the road 9th ranked BSV Wulfen (4-6) 89-85 on Saturday. American swingman Kendall Stafford (193-97, college: N.Alabama) scored 28 points to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Niklas Meesmann (186-98) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Recklinghausen's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American point guard Bryant Allen (183-90, college: Dakota St.) responded with 26 points and 8 rebounds and center Wilhelm Koehler (206-88) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Recklinghausen have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position in West with 6-4 record. Loser BSV Wulfen dropped to the tenth place with six games lost. They share the position with ETB Miners. Recklinghausen will meet Hertener Loewen (#6) on the road in the next round.
