We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Lietkabelis (7-4) smashed on the road one of their biggest challengers Siauliai (6-4) 97-74 on Sunday. They outrebounded Siauliai 34-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. Lietkabelis looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Vytenis Lipkevicius (195-89) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Gediminas Orelik (199-90) chipped in 18 points. Five Lietkabelis players scored in double figures. Coach Nenad Canak's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Giedrius Staniulis (206-91) who recorded 18 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Jon Elmore (190-95, college: Marshall) added 9 points and 8 assists respectively. Lietkabelis moved-up to fourth place. Loser Siauliai dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Lietkabelis will meet league's second-placed Zalgiris in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Siauliai will play against Jonava and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
