The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Samsun as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Samsun smashed 11th ranked Final Spor at home 88-63. Samsun looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Jalone Friday (206-96, college: NM State) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 9 rebounds and Ercan Bayrak (205-97) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Samsun players scored in double figures. American-Trinidad and Tobago point guard Terrell Gomez (173-98, college: SDSU) responded with 28 points and 4 assists and forward Gurur Baybora (195-90) scored 3 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Konyaspor. Final Spor at the other side dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. They share the position with TED Ankara and Antalya. Final Spor will play next round against Mersin BBGSK trying to get back on the winning streak. Samsun will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Antalya on the road.
