Regular Season Round 12: Zalgiris - Juventus 101-77

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kaunas. Second ranked host Zalgiris (9-1) smashed 3rd ranked Juventus (7-3) 101-77. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Juventus. Zalgiris shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 53.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Tyler Cavanaugh (206-94, college: GWU) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the former international point guard Lukas Lekavicius (180-94) who added 15 points and 8 assists during the contest. Zalgiris' coach Jure Zdovc felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Patrick Miller (185-92, college: Tennessee St.) with 19 points and 8 assists and power forward Rokas Gustys (206-94, college: Hofstra) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Rytas. Juventus at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. Zalgiris is looking forward to face Lietkabelis (#4) in Panevezys in the next round. Juventus will play on the road against P.Zvaigzdes in Pasvalys and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
