Regular Season Round 9: Pinar Karsiyaka - Afyon 90-76

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Afyon Bld (3-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (7-2) 90-76 on Sunday. Pinar Karsiyaka shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Tony Taylor (184-90, college: GWU) who scored 17 points and 5 assists. Senegalese-French Amath MBaye (205-89, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 20 points. Four Pinar Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St.) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and Lithuanian Donatas Tarolis (207-94) added 17 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pinar Karsiyaka moved-up to second place, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Loser Afyon Bld dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. They share it with Buyukcekmece.
